The social media post made reference to 1946 when the club wore red uniforms with white numbers and white stripes. Based on the brief snapshots featured in the video, it appears the new alternate uniforms will feature red uniforms and pants with white numbers and blue stripes. The club’s blue helmets appear to have been left unchanged.
It is rumoured that the team will debut the new alternates when they host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Week 4.
Montreal overhauled its aesthetic in 2019 when they unveiled a new primary logo and new uniforms. The club’s helmet design underwent a minor change in 2022 as small logos were placed on either side of the helmet instead of one large logo being placed on the top of the helmet.
This will mark the first time the club has had an alternate uniform since 2018 when they wore grey jerseys and pants that featured white feathers on the shoulders.
The Alouettes (1-0) will visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-2) on Friday, June 23 at Tim Hortons Field with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT.
