The 2022 Toronto Argonauts have been inducted into the Toronto Sport Hall of Honour alongside one of their top players.
The city held its sixth annual induction ceremony at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre on Wednesday to honour 17 new members. The 2022 Toronto Argonauts were inducted a the Team of the Year, while veteran linebacker Henoc Muamba was inducted as the Male Athlete of the Year.
The Argonauts upset the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 109th Grey Cup in Regina by a score of 24-23. Muamba recorded three tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass knockdown, and a key late-game interception that helped seal the win. He was named the game’s Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Canadian, becoming just the second player ever to win both honours.
“I would like to congratulate these local luminaries who have done so much to enrich our communities, teach our youth and inspire us with their passion for and dedication to sport,” said deputy mayor Jennifer McKelvie in a statement.
The others who were recognized with induction to the Toronto Sport Hall of Honour are as follows.

• Para-Athletes of the Year: Claire Buchanan and Shayne Smith
• Builder: Ann Doggett
• Corporate Builder: Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities
• Team of the Year: Toronto Argonauts
• Coach of the Year: Ajay Sharma
• City of Sport Lifetime Achievement: Byron MacDonald
• Sport Legends: Nora Young and Dwayne De Rosario
• Spirit of Sport: Diversity and Inclusion: Katie Heggtveit
• Community Sport Volunteers: Hodan Hussein, Mark Poyser and Wasiq Zia
