The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American offensive lineman Colin Kelly.

The six-foot-five, 298-pound blocker started 14 games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2022 following a trade from the Edmonton Elks. He was issued a two-game suspension by the CFL following the season after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

Kelly signed with the Seattle Sea Dragons in February and was named All-XFL following the completion of the season. Seattle went 7-3 in the regular season but were eliminated from postseason contention by the D.C. Defenders in the North Division Championship Game on April 30.

The Oregon State product was invited to minicamp with the New Orleans Saints following the XFL season, though he did not sign a contract with the team.

Kelly has played 90 games over seven seasons in the CFL with the Ottawa Redblacks (2014-15), Elks (2017-22), and Ticats (2022). The native of Longview, Wa. has had two previous stints in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs (2013-14) and San Francisco 49ers (2016).

Saskatchewan released 22 players following training camp in accordance with the CFL’s cutdown date. The Riders (0-0) will open the regular season on Sunday, June 11 against the Edmonton Elks. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. EDT at Commonwealth Stadium.
