The Edmonton Elks have made five more cuts ahead of the end of training camp, releasing Canadian quarterback Mike Beaudry, American receiver Raphael Leonard, American linebacker Matthew Thomas, and American defensive backs Christian Campbell and CJ Jones.

Thomas started 14 games for the team last season at defensive end and middle linebacker, recording 51 defensive tackles, five special teams tackles, four sacks, and one interception. The six-foot-three, 230-pound defender made his CFL debut in 2021 as a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders where he made two special teams tackles in one game.

Leonard dressed for five games with the team last season, though he did not register a statistic. Beaudry dressed for 10 games but primarily contributed as a fullback or on special teams.

Campbell is most notable for being the player who was ripped to the ground by Andrew Harris during the Banjo Bowl brawl of 2021. He dressed for five games with the Riders that season and made five total tackles.

The Elks wrapped their preseason this past weekend and cut 18 players from training camp, though they had a few remaining moves to make. They will open the regular season at home against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday, June 11.
