The Edmonton Elks have removed American offensive lineman Martez Ivy from the suspended list, reinstating him onto the active roster.
Head coach and general manager Chris Jones had previously indicated that Ivey was unable to travel due to an issue with his passport.
The six-foot-three, 305-pound blocker was twice named second-team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) at the University of Florida. He went unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft but signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent. He also had stints with the Carolina Panthers and the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers.
Ivey started his CFL career with the Toronto Argonauts in 2021, dressing for one game with the team. He was traded to the Elks ahead of the 2022 season and played 15 games for the club, making eight starts at right tackle and seven starts at left tackle.
The Elks have already made 18 cuts following their second and final preseason game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. They will open the regular season on Sunday, June 11 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
