The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will have all four quarterbacks in the lineup for their preseason opener against the Edmonton Elks on Saturday, including starter Zach Collaros.
The Bombers are the only CFL team that does not provide depth charts for preseason games and are tight-lipped about team strategy, leaving how much playing time — if any — Collaros receives an open question. However, the 34-year-old will be in the lineup for the exhibition contest.
Collaros missed several days of training camp last week following the passing of his grandmother but is coming off back-to-back Most Outstanding Player awards and three straight Grey Cup appearances as a member of the Bombers.
Also in the lineup will be backup Dru Brown, as well as a pair of newcomers in Josh Jones and Tyrell Pigrome.
Winnipeg will be dressing most of their veteran starters for the game, with a couple of notable exceptions. Receiver Dalton Schoen, defensive tackle Jake Thomas, kickers Sergio Castillo and Marc Liegghio, defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, linebacker Adam Bighill, running back Brady Oliveira, and defensive backs Winston Rose and Desmond Lawrence are all expected to be inactive.
The Bombers and Elks are set to clash at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, May 27 at 4:00 p.m. EDT.
