Bo Levi Mitchell will make his first start as a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday, albeit in a preseason setting.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback joined the Ticats via trade shortly after both teams were eliminated from postseason contention in 2022. He signed a new three-year contract with the club in January, cementing him as the new face of the franchise in Steeltown.

A number of Hamilton’s other big-name off-season additions will dress for Saturday’s contest, including running back James Butler, receiver Duke Williams, left tackle Joel Figueroa, and middle linebacker Jameer Thurman.

Defensive end Ja’Gared Davis, who signed with the team following a one-year stint in Toronto, will not dress, nor will Canadian edge-rusher Kwaku Boateng. Offensive lineman Dayton Black, the team’s first-round pick out of the University of Saskatchewan, will also not play.

Saturday’s preseason game between the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats will get underway at Tim Hortons Field with kickoff slated for 4:00 p.m. EDT. Hamilton’s second and final preseason game will take place on Friday, June 2 against the Montreal Alouettes.
