The Toronto Argonauts have signed American receiver RaJae’ Johnson.
The six-foot-four, 220-pound target caught 36 passes for 713 yards and seven touchdowns over 14 games at Troy University this past season where he helped the team win the Sun Belt Conference and the Cure Bowl.
The native of St. Louis, Mo. started his collegiate career at San Mateo Junior College where he was an All-American after recording 56 receptions for 1,385 yards and 14 touchdowns. He then transferred to the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) where he caught 25 passes for 414 yards and one touchdown over 20 games.
The Argos will open their preseason against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Tim Hortons Field on Saturday, May 27.
