The Toronto Argonauts have signed Canadian receiver Savaughn Magnaye-Jones.
The five-foot-seven, 164-pound target caught 79 passes for 1,524 yards and 15 touchdowns over 26 career games at Western University. The Hamilton native caught 33 passes for 579 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022 and was named a first-team U Sports All-Canadian as well as an OUA all-star.
Magnaye-Jones ran a 4.67-second forty-yard dash at the CFL Combine but went unselected in the 2023 CFL Draft.
The Argos have also released American running back Adam Cofield, Canadian fullback Joe Carbone, American receivers Cyrus Holder and Will Vereen, American offensive lineman Daviyon McDaniel, American defensive lineman Chris Rice, American linebacker Chris Moore, American defensive backs Devin Hafford and Parnell Motley, Canadian long snapper Max Latour.
Toronto has also suspended Canadian defensive back Cody Hale.
All CFL teams were required to trim their rosters to 75 players plus non-counters by late Tuesday night. A non-counter is any rookie who was drafted or attending training camp as a territorial exemption.
