The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added American linebacker Kyrei Fisher-Morris to their training camp roster.
The six-foot-one, 237-pound defender started all 13 games for Oregon State in 2022, earning an honourable mention All-Pac 12 selection after recording 77 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception and six pass breakups. He went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft.
In 31 games for the Beavers over four seasons, Fisher-Morris collected 114 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception, and six pass knockdowns. The native of Tulsa, Okla. began his college career at the University of Arkansas, where he made one tackle in four games over two seasons.
The club also announced the release of American linebacker Justin Rice and the retirement of Canadian receiver Riley Boersma.
Rice signed with the Riders in July 2022 and spent the majority of last season on the practice roster, dressing for three games and recording one special teams tackle. The six-foot-two, 225-pound defender played collegiately at Fresno State (2016-19), Arkansas State (2020), and Utah State (2021), earning all-conference honours with all three programs.
Boersma was selected 72nd overall in the eighth round of the 2022 CFL Draft but returned to school for his final season at the University of Regina. In 25 career games for the Rams, the Cambridge, Ont. native caught 73 passes for 1,074 yards and six touchdowns.
