The Saskatchewan Roughriders have selected University of British Columbia defensive lineman Lake Korte-Moore with the third overall pick in the 2023 CFL Draft.
The Ottawa native was named a Canada West all-star this past year after recording 22 total tackles, six tackles for loss, five sacks, and one pass knockdown. He has generally played defensive end at the U Sports level but projects as a CFL defensive tackle as he continues to grow his six-foot-four, 264-pound frame.
Korte-Moore ran a 5.04-second forty-yard dash at the CFL Combine and recorded 18 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, a 35-inch vertical, nine-foot, eight-inch broad jump, 7.71-second three-cone drill, and 4.55-second short shuttle.
The Riders entered Tuesday’s draft with only two Canadian defensive linemen on the roster, including defensive tackle Charbel Dabire and defensive end Nicholas Dheilly.
Korte-Moore was 3DownNation‘s No. 11-ranked prospect in the 2023 CFL Draft.
