Calgary Stampeders sign big-bodied receiver Tyler Roberts

The Calgary Stampeders have signed American receiver Tyler Roberts.

The six-foot-four, 200-pound target played 23 games over two seasons at Coastal Carolina (2021-22), recording nine catches for 162 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 21.4 yards per receptions this past season with a career-long 47-yard catch coming against East Carolina.

The native of Atlanta, Ga. started his collegiate career at North Carolina Wesleyan of NCCA Division III. He was named first-team All-USA South Athletic Conference in 2019 after making making 29 receptions for 737 yards and nine touchdowns in 10 games.

CFL teams are slated to open training camp on Sunday, May 14 with rosters of 85 players excluding non-counters. The Stampeders will play their first preseason game against the Edmonton Elks on Monday, May 22 at 4 p.m. EDT at McMahon Stadium.
