The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added a former All-American to their 2023 roster, signing former Oklahoma State linebacker Kolby Harvell-Peel.

The six-foot, 222-pound defender played 49 games over four seasons with the Cowboys, serving primarily as a safety. He amassed 237 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, five sacks, 10 interceptions, 24 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.

Harvell-Peel was a three-time All-Big 12 honouree, receiving first-team selections in 2019 and 2021 as well as a second-team selection in 2020. He was named a third-team All-American in 2021 after collecting 70 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

The 23-year-old went unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft, ultimately signing with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent. However, he was waived prior to training camp after suffering an injury.
