The Calgary Stampeders have inked Global punter Cody Grace to a contract extension that will carry through the 2024 season.

The 27-year-old Australian had one-year remaining on his rookie contract after he was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2021 Global Draft.

“We’re excited to have Cody for an additional season with the Red and White,” Stampeders’ general manager and head coach Dave Dickenson said in a statement. “He’s a great asset to our team and our city.”

Grace became the first Global player to be named a West Division all-star during his rookie season in 2021, repeating the feat in 2022 while also earning a CFL all-star selection. He averaged 48.2 yards per punt and 39.6 yards net in 15 games last season, leading the league in both categories.

“I’m stoked to be a part of this great city and organization for the next few years,” Grace said in a statement.

The Arkansas State product has punted 160 times over 29 career CFL regular-season games, amassing 7,508 yards and a 46.9-yard average. He has led the CFL in net punting in each of the last two seasons.
