American defensive lineman Davon Coleman has re-signed with the Ottawa Redblacks after spending nearly two months on the open market.

The 32-year-old defensive tackle returns for his third season in Ottawa after initially joining the team ahead of the 2021 season. He appeared in 14 games in 2022, recording sixteen tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries — returning one for the first touchdown of his CFL career.

The Arizona State product spent two years as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys prior to coming to the CFL in 2017. Coleman has since played five seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, B.C. Lions, Toronto Argonauts and Redblack, dressing for 77 career games. He has racked up 174 tackles, 24 sacks, and three interceptions and was named a CFL all-star in 2018 while playing for the Lions.
