The Edmonton Elks have signed American quarterback Jarret Doege and American offensive lineman Ye’Majesty Sanders.
Doege initially committed to Bowling Green State where he played his first two seasons of college football. He completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,041 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions, leading the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in completions in 2018.
The six-foot-two, 208-pound passer transferred to West Virginia in 2019 and played three seasons with the Mountaineers, completing 62.7 percent of his passes for 6,453 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions. He twice led the Big 12 in pass attempts.
Doege played his senior year at Troy University in 2022 following a brief stint at Western Kentucky. He threw for 575 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions in seven games for the Trojans.
The native of Lubbock, Texas is the younger brother of former Saskatchewan Roughriders’ quarterback Seth Doege, who is now the tight ends coach at Purdue University.
Sanders played five seasons at Jacksonville State, starting 29 of a possible 37 games. The six-foot-five, 280-pound blocker out of Columbus, Ga. has offers from Mississippi State, East Carolina, Florida A&M, Georgia State, and Mercer coming out of high school.
