The Calgary Stampeders have signed American offensive lineman Brandon Murphy.
The six-foot-six, 328-pound Montgomery, Alabama native spent the final month of the 2022 CFL season on the Stampeders’ practice roster but did not appear in any games.
The 27-year-old was most recently with the XFL’s Orlando Guardians and previously spent time with the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars and with the Spring League’s Sea Lions.
In college, Murphy attended the University of Memphis in 2018 where he played defensive line for the Tigers for one season. He transferred to Memphis after playing basketball at Indiana State University for four seasons, where he played power forward for the Sycamores.
Murphy played in 114 career games, starting 70, and averaged 4.7 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game during his collegiate basketball career.
