The Calgary Stampeders have signed American linebacker Jordan Anthony.
The six-foot, 239-pound defender was rated a five-star recruit and the top inside linebacker in the 2017 class by Rivals, while receiving four-star grades from all other outlets coming out of high school. He committed to Michigan and redshirted, playing 16 games over the following two seasons. He recorded 14 tackles and a sack before entering the transfer portal after the 2019 season.
Anthony failed to find a team for the COVID-altered 2020 season, later landing at Troy University. He played 12 games for the Trojans in 2021, recording 35 tackles and one fumble recovery before declaring for the NFL Draft.
The Silver Spring, Md. native went undrafted and later signed with the XFL’s San Antonio Brahmas, failing to make the roster out of training camp.
