The Calgary Stampeders are beefing up their offensive line, signing veteran Canadian offensive tackle Jamal Campbell.

The six-foot-five, 292-pound blocker has played 71 career games over six seasons in the CFL, making 22 starts at right tackle.

Originally selected in the third round of the 2016 CFL Draft pick by the Argonauts, the Toronto native became a staple for his hometown team over five seasons and won a Grey Cup in 2017. Campbell signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders for the 2022 season and played 12 games, making two starts.

“Jamal is an experienced and versatile player whose presence will create training camp competition at every position on the offensive line,” Stampeders general manager and head coach Dave Dickenson said in a team statement.

Prior to his CFL career, Campbell played 27 games over four seasons at York University. He began as a defensive lineman before switching to the offensive line for his final two seasons with the Lions.
