The Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group has named Adrian Sciarra president of the Redblacks.

“The past nine-plus years have been more than I, and my family, could ever have imagined. The vision for OSEG became a reality, and we became part of a new community that we are so fortunate to call home,” Sciarra said in a statement.

“I’d like to thank our ownership group along with CEO Mark Goudie for this opportunity, and along with all of the great teammates I get to work with each day, I look forward to exciting times ahead for both the Redblacks and 67’s.”

Sciarra, most recently OSEG’s senior vice president of business operations, joined the organization in September 2013 as vice president of partnerships and merchandise sales, following a five-year term at the Canadian Football League.

A long-time sports business executive, Sciarra’s decade with OSEG followed a 15-year career with the CFL, NASCAR, TSN and Landmark Sports Group. His work in the industry saw him named one of Canada’s “Five to Watch” in 2014 an award recognizing the country’s top sports business leaders under 40.

The scope of Sciarra’s responsibilities with OSEG widened over the years to include oversight over the sports business operations group at OSEG, and more recently expanding responsibilities with the football and hockey operations departments.

“Adrian has been with us from Day 1. In addition to overseeing our sports business operations, he has been representing us at the President’s level with the CFL and OHL for the past couple of years, while working very closely with our hockey and football departments,” Goudie said in a statement. “Combined with his strong background in sports, he is in the perfect position to take on these additional responsibilities and lead our sports teams.”
