The Toronto Argonauts have signed American defensive lineman Thomas Costigan and Canadian fullback Mario Villamizar, the club announced on Tuesday.
Costigan played 11 games as a member of the Edmonton Elks this past season and made 24 tackles and six sacks over 11 games.
The 25-year-old was traded to the Montreal Alouettes alongside defensive back Nafees Lyon at the end of August and dressed for seven games with the team, making four total tackles, two forced fumbles, and one sack.
The six-foot-three, 245-pound edge rusher recorded 24 defensive tackles and six sacks over 11 games as a CFL rookie with Edmonton in 2021.
Villamizar was selected in the sixth round of the 2019 CFL Draft by the B.C. Lions out of Wilfrid Laurier University. The 27-year-old native of St. Catharines, Ont. has dressed for 40 career CFL games, recording two receptions for 13 yards and four special teams tackles.
The six-foot-three, 237-pounder was named a second-team OUA all-star as a member of the Golden Hawks in 2018.
