The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Canadian receiver Juwan Brescacin, the team announced on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old was a second-round pick of the Calgary Stampeders in the 2016 CFL Draft out of Northern Illinois University. He played four seasons with the team, recording 69 receptions for 1,046 yards and six touchdowns over 44 games before departing via free agency.
The native of Mississauga, Ont. signed with the Toronto Argonauts in February 2020 and played two seasons with the club, dressing for 11 games. He made 11 catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns with the Boatmen but struggled to stay on the field amid injury troubles.
The six-foot-three, 227-pound target made 99 receptions for 1,465 yards and 13 touchdowns over 50 collegiate games as a member of the Huskies.
Saskatchewan lost former first-round CFL draft pick Justin McInnis to the B.C. Lions on the opening day of free agency. The native of Pierrefonds, Que. made 48 catches for 596 yards and two touchdowns over 33 career games with the Riders.
