The Toronto Argonauts have re-signed Canadian receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. through the 2025 season.

He was scheduled to become a free agent on Tuesday, February 14.

It’s a three-year contract for the 25-year-old who had a spectacular 2022 campaign that saw him catch 81 passes for 1,101 yards and five touchdowns while leading the three-down league in yards after the catch with 483 on route to being named a CFL all-star for the first time in his career. He ranked fifth in receptions and sixth in receiving yards league-wide last season.

The Ottawa native was the Argos nominee for Most Outstanding Canadian for the second season in a row and earned the East Division nomination for the award last year as well. Those awards came after leading all Canadian pass catchers in receiving yards last season.

The Wilfrid Laurier University product led the double blue in every major receiving category in 2022. He had three 100-yard games including a career-high 161 yards at Ottawa in September, plus nine receptions for 97 yards and one major in Toronto’s East Final win over Montreal.

Gittens Jr. was selected in the third round, 23rd overall during the 2019 CFL Draft. He has played in 44 regular season games for the Argonauts, hauling in 132 receptions for 1,716 yards and nine touchdowns.
