The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive back Ken Webster, the team announced on Tuesday.
The five-foot-eleven, 202-pound cover man was selected in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He was waived by the team at the conclusion of his rookie training camp and was claimed by the Miami Dolphins.
The native of Decatur, Ga. dressed for eight games with the Dolphins that season and started five contests, recording 19 total tackles and one pass knockdown. He returned to the team in 2020 but was waived at the start of the regular season.
The 26-year-old signed with the San Francisco 49ers in September 2020 and played nine games with the club, making six total tackles and one forced fumble. He was waived by the team during training camp in 2021 before briefly joining the practice squad with the New York Jets.
Webster played five collegiate seasons at Ole Miss from 2014 to 2018 and made 122 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and 20 pass knockdowns over 47 career games.
