TSN will televise four CFL preseason games in 2023, according to a broadcast schedule distributed by the network on Monday. These four contests are as follows.
Friday, May 26 — Montreal Alouettes vs. Ottawa Redblacks at 7:30 p.m. ET
Saturday, May 27 — Toronto Argonauts vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats at 4 p.m. ET
Saturday, May 27 — B.C. Lions vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders at 7 p.m. ET
Friday, June 2 — Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Elks are the only teams that will not have one of their two preseason games televised on the network. The Stampeders will make their 2023 television debut against B.C. in the league’s regular season opener on Thursday, June 8, while the Elks will do so on Sunday, June 11 against Saskatchewan to close out the first week of the regular season.
The Riders are the only team that will have both of their preseason games televised by the league’s exclusive broadcasting partner in 2023. Saskatchewan was the team that produced the strongest regular season ratings for TSN last year despite missing the postseason with a record of 6-12.
TSN has traditionally elected not to broadcast all nine CFL preseason games, opting to televise four of them in recent years. This was the case before the COVID-19 pandemic and again in 2022 when the league played preseason games for the first time since before the cancellation of the 2020 season.
All 81 regular season CFL games will be televised by TSN along with four postseason games ahead of the 110th Grey Cup on Sunday, Nov. 19. The league has traditionally played its four postseason games on Sunday but have moved them to Saturday for 2023 with the East and West Semi-Finals slated for Saturday, Nov. 4 and the East and West Finals slated for Saturday, Nov. 11.
