The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released Canadian receiver Wesley Lewis.

The six-foot-five, 218-pound target played four games in a depth role during his only season as a Rider, catching two passes for eight yards.

Lewis was selected 45th overall by the Ottawa Redblacks in the fifth round of the 2019 CFL Draft. Over two seasons in Ottawa, he played 11 games and made three catches for 33 yards.

Raised in Leander, Texas, he played five games as a senior at Angelo State. He made 13 receptions for 191 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 14.7 yards per catch.

Prior to that, Lewis attended Houston Baptist University. He suited up for 26 games over that time and recorded 54 catches for 664 yards and five touchdowns, including a team-leading three touchdowns as a redshirt freshman.
