Stampeders re-sign American defensive back Brad Muhammad

The Calgary Stampeders have re-signed American defensive back Brad Muhammad for the 2023 season.

The 27-year-old made 16 starts at halfback during his first season with the Stampeders, amassing 50 defensive tackles and 10 knockdowns. He also added two interceptions, five special-teams tackles, one tackle for loss and one forced fumble.

Muhammad joined Calgary after playing five games for the Ottawa Redblacks in 2021. In 21 career CFL games, he has amassed 64 defensive tackles, three tackles for loss, five special-teams stops, two interceptions, 11 knockdowns and one forced fumble.

The Florida International product was named all-Conference USA second team as a senior in 2017 after recording 53 tackles, one tackle for loss, five pass breakups, four interceptions and a pick-six in 13 games. He spent time in both the Indoor Football League and Arena Football League prior to signing in the CFL.
