Calgary Stampeders’ receiver Malik Henry is working out for the Los Angeles Chargers on Wednesday, according to NFL insider Aaron Wilson.
The 25-year-old is coming off a breakout season in which he was named a West Division all-star after making 62 receptions for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns over 13 games. He also ran the ball three times for nine yards, returned five punts for 63 yards, and returned one missed field goal for 19 yards.
In October, Henry signed a three-year contract extension to remain with the Stampeders through 2025 but is permitted to pursue opportunities south of the border via the league’s NFL window. He has previously spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, and New Orleans Saints, though he has never dressed for a regular season NFL game.
Henry caught 30 passes for 407 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior at West Georgia in 2018. According to the website NFL Draft Scout, he ran a 4.41 forty-yard dash at his pro day in March 2019 along with a 36-inch vertical jump, 129-inch broad jump, 4.39-second three-cone drill, 7.25-second shuttle, and 22 reps on the bench press.
