The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive back Rolan Milligan to a two-year contract extension, the team announced on Friday. He was slated to become a free agent in February.

The five-foot-eleven, 200-pound defender started 17 games this past season at boundary halfback and recorded 71 defensive tackles, 11 special teams tackles, one sack, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and eight pass knockdowns.

The native of Lake Wales, Fla. signed with the team in October 2021 and dressed for one late-season game, making five defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, and one sack. He also dressed for the West Semi-Final and West Final, recording four special teams tackles.

The 28-year-old signed with the Dallas Cowboys after going unselected in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent time on the club’s practice roster before stints with the Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts. He dressed for 11 regular season games with the Colts and made 15 tackles.

Milligan spent his senior year at the University of Toledo where he made 48 tackles, four tackles for loss, two interceptions, five pass deflections, and three forced fumbles.
