The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed three American players, including quarterback Zerrick Cooper and receivers Jake Parker and Tabashi Thomas.
Cooper dressed for 39 games over four seasons at Jacksonville State University (2018-2021), throwing for 9,628 yards, 74 touchdowns, and 34 interceptions. He also rushed 366 times for 909 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was named Second-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference in 2019 and First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference in 2018.
The six-foot-three, 217-pound passer spent one season at Clemson University in 2017 where he threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns.
Parker spent the past three seasons at Howard Payne University where he made 123 catches for 2,282 yards and 21 touchdowns over 20 career games. The six-foot-one, 210-pound target also scored touchdowns as a rusher and punt returner.
He led the American Southwest Conference in 2021 with 52 catches for 1,113 yards and 13 touchdowns and was named the American Southwest Conference Player of the Year.
Thomas played three seasons at Hinds Community College and made 65 catches for 1,287 yards and 10 touchdowns. The six-foot-three, 195-pound target was named MACCC All-Conference South in 2021 after finishing second conference-wide with 788 receiving yards.
He also contributed on special team as a return specialist, returning 10 kickoffs for 190 yards and eight punts for 145 yards.
