The Edmonton Elks have signed American defensive lineman Marcus Willoughby, the club announced on Monday.
The six-foot-three, 253-pound defender played four seasons (2016-19) at Elon University and recorded 224 total tackles, 16.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles in 43 career games. He was named second-team All-Colonial Athletic Association in his final season with the Phoenix.
The native of Durham, N.C. went unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft but signed with the Baltimore Ravens. He was also a member of the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad that same year.
The Elks missed the postseason in 2022 after finishing at the bottom of the West Division standings with a 4-14 record. They managed a league-worst 35 sacks during the regular season.
