The Calgary Stampeders have some added ammunition for the West Semi-Final, with all-star CFL receiver Malik Henry set to return to the lineup Sunday after a four-week absence.
Henry has been battling an ankle injury suffered in Week 17 against Toronto but will be back in his starting spot for the playoffs. He recently signed a three-year contract extension with the club.
The six-foot, 176-pound pass catcher has had a breakout second CFL season, notching 62 receptions for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games. That was good enough to earn him a West Division all-star selection — the first of his career.
The West Georgia product played nine games in his first season north of the border in 2021, recording 11 receptions for 124 yards and two touchdowns. He was also the team’s primary return specialist during that time, returning 21 kickoffs for 513 yards and 38 punts for 435 yards.
Henry may be asked to handle return duties once again, as the Stampeders have opted not to dress their Most Outstanding Rookie nominee Peyton Logan due to ratio concerns.
The Stampeders (12-6) will visit the B.C. Lions (12-6) on Sunday, November 6 at 4:30 p.m. EDT.
