The Stampeders ran the Roughriders’ small chances of making the 2022 Grey Cup playoffs into the ground during the regular season’s penultimate week.

Running backs Ka’Deem Carey and Dedrick Mills piled up yardage as the offensive line opened holes, Calgary totalled 37 carries for 212 yards (5.7 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. That performance on the ground led the Stamps to a convincing 32-21 win.

Quarterback Mason Fine was solid yet unspectacular in his first CFL start. Fine completed 18-of-28 passes for 196 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions but failed to provide the considerable boost head coach Craig Dickenson was looking for on offence after benching Cody Fajardo.

Rider Nation tuned in enough to make it the highest-rated CFL game of the Week 20 slate on TSN. Over 460,000 average viewers watched the green and white’s post-season hopes officially come to an end.

1 p.m. ET NFL kick-offs on Sunday brought in 299,400 on CTV and 235,100 on CTV2 total, while the 4 p.m. window on CTV totalled 726,800. Monday Night Football featuring the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots drew 571,100 on TSN.

2022 Week 20 TV ratings:

Ottawa at Hamilton — 320,000
B.C. at Edmonton — 323,800

Toronto at Montreal — 282,000
Calgary at Saskatchewan — 465,000
