TSN’s Kate Beirness has been chosen to host this year’s CFL awards show, which is set to take place at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
The winners of the league’s seven main awards will be unveiled on the night, including Most Outstanding Player, Most Outstanding Canadian, Most Outstanding Defensive Player, Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman, Most Outstanding Special Teams Player, Most Outstanding Rookie, and Coach of the Year. The East and West Division finalists for these awards will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
Other awards to be handed out include the Commissioner’s Award, the Hugh Campbell Distinguished Leadership Award, the Tom Pate Memorial Award, the Jake Gaudaur Veteran’s Award, and the Jane Mawby Tribute Award.
The league also plans to use the evening to honour influential women from across the province of Saskatchewan who have played a significant role in impacting football across the province and the country, including leaders in the Indigenous community.
Beirness hosted the event for the first time in 2021 and tickets for it are currently on sale.
This year’s Grey Cup will be played in Regina at Mosaic Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 20 with kickoff slated for 6:00 p.m. EST. The game is already sold out.
