The B.C. Lions are going to place star receiver Bryan Burnham on the six-game injured after he suffered a fractured wrist during the fourth quarter of the team’s 25-11 loss to the Calgary Stampeders this past week.

The club indicated that they remain hopeful that Burnham can return to the lineup before the end of the season. He underwent a thorough evaluation from club doctors on Monday.

The 32-year-old receiver missed four games earlier this season after suffering fractured ribs and a punctured lung in Week 3. In nine games played, he has hauled in 41 receptions for 596 yards and four touchdowns, including four catches for 58 yards on Saturday.

Burnham has played 105 games since joining B.C. in 2014 and is their longest-tenured offensive player. He has recorded 476 catches for 7,212 yards and 42 touchdowns over eight seasons.

The Lions (9-4) are scheduled to host the Ottawa Redblacks (3-10) on Friday, Sept. 30 with kickoff slated for 10:30 p.m. EDT.
