The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have released starting offensive lineman Travis Vornkahl.

The 26-year-old started nine games for the Ticats this season, including seven at left tackle. He was a healthy scratch for the team’s 48-31 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this past weekend.

Vornkahl signed with Hamilton in April 2021 and started four games at left tackle as a rookie, including the East Semi-Final against Montreal.

The six-foot-six, 298-pound native of Sealy, Texas went unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft and attended training camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders that same year. He went on to have stints with three different NFL teams, including the Cleveland Browns, Washington Football Team, and Indianapolis Colts.

Vornkahl played 32 games for West Texas A&M University and was named to the Second Team All-Lone Star Conference in 2018 and received All-Conference Honourable Mentions in 2016 and 2017.
