The Ottawa Redblacks have brought back American offensive lineman Justice Powers.

The six-foot-three, 298-pound blocker was in Ottawa for training camp but was released following the team’s first preseason game.

The 26-year-old went unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft out of UAB and signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent. He was released shortly thereafter and signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in December 2019 only two weeks after they lost the Grey Cup to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Powers remained a member of the Ticats through the CFL’s cancelled 2020 season but was released in July 2021 before the regular season got underway. He was drafted by the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions in February 2022 but was released by the team in May.

The Redblacks also brought back American defensive back Douglas Coleman II, who recorded 11 tackles over two games with the team earlier this season.
