The B.C. Lions have signed Global linebacker Maxime Rouyer to the team’s practice roster.

The six-foot-one, 225-pound defender appeared in 18 games over two seasons with the Edmonton Elks (2019-21) and recorded four special teams tackles. The McGill product played four seasons of U Sports football (2015-18) and made 103 total tackles and 4.5 sacks in 23 career games.

Edmonton selected Rouyer in the fourth round of the 2019 European Draft. He reached free agency in February 2022 but remained unsigned until Monday.

B.C. (8-3) is scheduled to take on the Calgary Stampeders (8-4) on Saturday at McMahon Stadium with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
