Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ receiver Bralon Addison has revealed that he suffered a torn Achilles this past week, ending his season.

“I sincerely appreciate all the love and kind messages from family, friends, fans, players, even from other teams! Much love! Gonna attack rehab like a champ and God willing I’ll be back stronger than ever!” he tweeted on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old started all eight of Hamilton’s games this year, recording 43 catches for 433 yards. He also ran the ball 12 times for 67 yards.

Addison signed with the Ticats in September 2018 following brief stints with the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Toronto Argonauts. He had a breakout season in 2019 when he made 95 receptions for 1,236 yards and seven touchdowns along with 36 carries for 218 yards and a touchdown, leading to an opportunity with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Oregon product was waived by the Vikings in August 2020 and remained a free agent until the end of the year when he rejoined the Ticats. He dressed for only three games last year due to injury, making 18 catches for 231 yards.
