The CFL has fined Edmonton Elks’ defensive back Treston Decoud for violating the league’s social media policy.

The league did not specify the nature of the offence for which Decoud was fined, though the violation occurred in Week 7. Edmonton was on a bye this past week following a 24-10 loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Decoud has started all seven games for the Elks this year at field-side halfback, recording 20 defensive tackles.

The 29-year-old started 13 games as a CFL rookie with the Toronto Argonauts in 2021, making 25 defensive tackles and one special teams tackle. He was cut by the Argos during training camp this year and signed with the Elks shortly thereafter.

As per league policy, the amount of the fine was not disclosed.
