The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released American quarterback Joe Mancuso.
The six-foot-four, 215-pound pivot signed with the team in May after spending five years at the University of Richmond. He dressed for six games while Dakota Prukop was on the six-game injured list but was moved to the practice roster this past week against the Calgary Stampeders. He did not register a statistic while on the active roster.
Mancuso finished top ten in a number of Richmond’s all-time passing categories and was the first quarterback to throw for 5,500 yards and rush for 1,500 yards in a career. He finished his tenure with the Spiders with more than 7,000 all-purpose yards and finished fifth all-time in team history with 39 touchdowns.
Winnipeg also released American offensive lineman Ryan Nelson.
