The Ottawa Redblacks have signed defensive end Antonio Simmons, per source.

The 26-year-old broke into the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes in 2019 and made 45 tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble over 18 games. He was traded to the Edmonton Elks in October 2021 as part of the Trevor Harris deal, though Edmonton released him before training camp got underway this year.

Simmons rejoined the Alouettes shortly after and dressed for three games this season, recording four tackles. He was cut by the team on Sunday.

The Georgia Tech product has dressed for 30 career CFL games and made 63 tackles, six sacks, and one forced fumble. He previously spent time with the NFL’s Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018.
