The Saskatchewan Roughriders have cancelled Wednesday’s practice after six additional players test positive for COVID-19. The number of players in various stages of COVID protocol is now ten.

The Riders have indicated that the club continues to follow all CFL COVID-19 protocols and are in regular contact with the CFL’s medical committee.

No decisions have been made regarding the status of Thursday’s practice or Saturday’s game against the Toronto Argonauts.

The Riders recently returned to Regina from Halifax, where the team stayed before playing in the Touchdown Atlantic game last Saturday. The club lost to the Toronto Argonauts by a score of 30-24, dropping to 4-2 on the season.

The CFL was forced to reschedule one game in 2021 due to a COVID outbreak which affected the Edmonton Elks. Saskatchewan is next scheduled to play on Saturday, July 23 at home in a rematch with the Argos.
