Edmonton Elks’ president and CEO Victor Cui is known for his strong Twitter presence but sometimes social media allows users to mistakenly share valuable information.
The executive tweeted out a photo on Thursday that was quickly deleted but not before a Twitter user was able to take a screenshot. An agenda for July 14, 2022 can be partly viewed at the bottom of the screen featuring a bullet point that is checked off and underline: Vernon Adams Trade.
The photo was taken while Cui was armwrestling with Montreal Alouettes’ owner Gary Stern during their meeting.

The screenshot surfaced one day after Arash Madani tweeted that Adams could be traded to Edmonton “before long” provided there are no major injuries in Thursday’s game between Montreal and Edmonton.
The Elks are already on their third different starting quarterback of the season with Taylor Cornelius getting the nod against the Als. Nick Arbuckle started the first three games of the season but was benched and subsequently traded to the Ottawa Redblacks, while Tre Ford was injured last week in his second career start.
Adams started Montreal’s first two games of the season but was pulled early in his second outing in favour of Trevor Harris. He has completed 21-of-39 of his pass attempts this season for 294 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while rushing seven times for 33 yards and one touchdown.
Elks’ head coach and general manager Chris Jones has never shied away from making big moves and traded for Adams in August 2017 while he was the head coach and general manager of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Jones subsequently traded Adams away to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats the following off-season.
