Edmonton Elks’ receiver Derel Walker was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday due to a finger injury.
The seven-year veteran made six receptions for 64 yards in Edmonton’s lopsided season-opening loss to the B.C. Lions. He was targeted a team-high nine times by quarterbacks Nick Arbuckle and Tre Ford.
Walker is coming off the least productive season of his career during which he made 44 catches for 531 yards and zero touchdowns over 11 games. The four-time all-star was coming off a 1,000-yard season with the Toronto Argonauts and previously had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in Edmonton (2015-16) before a stint in the NFL.
The Elks are scheduled to host the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday for the club’s home-opener. The team went winless at home for the first time in franchise history last year, posting an 0-7 record.
