The Edmonton Elks have signed Canadian defensive back Nate Hamlin and moved Canadian defensive lineman Jordan Reaves to the six-game injured list.

Hamlin was a fourth-round pick of the B.C. Lions in the 2017 CFL Draft who played 20 games with the club over two seasons (2017-18), recording six special teams tackles. The 26-year-old from Ottawa was in training camp with the Elks before being released prior to the start of the regular season.

Reaves suffered a fractured finger during Edmonton’s season-opening game against the B.C. Lions on Saturday. The former Saskatchewan Roughrider is in his first season with the Elks after signing as a free agent in February.

The Elks are scheduled to host the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday for the club’s home-opener. The team went winless at home for the first time in franchise history last year, posting an 0-7 record.
