The Calgary Stampeders have released American receiver Floyd Allen.

Allen began his college career at NAIA Bethany College before working his way through two junior college programs. He was homeless and living out of his car when he successfully walked on at Ole Miss, eventually earning a scholarship.

The 25-year-old played nine games in two seasons with the Rebels, catching four passes for 44 yards while contributing mostly on special teams. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2019 but was released in training camp.

The Stamps will hold a walkthrough at McMahon Stadium on Thursday before heading to Edmonton on Friday to face the Elks in their second and final pre-season contest. Kickoff at Commonwealth Stadium is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET.
