It appears the Edmonton Elks are going to have a new look for the 2022 season.
A year after the team rebranded themselves the Elks, the team tweeted out a pair of pictures showing off the sleeves for revamped home and away jerseys that will be unveiled Friday.
“Friday can’t come soon enough… 22/05/20 #GoElks,” the tweet read.
Edmonton overhauled their entire brand last year, choosing the name ‘Elks’ last June after announcing the previous July that the team would be changing their name.
The team also made changes to their helmet for last season, replacing the iconic Double E logo that had been a staple of the team’s brand for decades with a pair of green antlers. The Elks returned to their classic EE helmet logo in March.
Edmonton is the latest team to unveil new duds ahead of the 2022 season. The Montreal Alouettes recently released a new, more traditional helmet design; the Winnipeg Blue Bombers showed off their new third uniform in April; and the B.C. Lions teased new uniforms back in February.
For now we can add the Elks to the growing list of teams that will have a fresh look for the upcoming season.
