The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American quarterback Chase Litton.

The six-foot-five, 230-pound passer played NCAA football at Marshall University. He played 34 games for the Herd completing 60.8 percent of his passes for 8,335 yards with 72 touchdowns and 31 interceptions.

He took over the starting role for the team as a redshirt freshman, setting a new school record for a freshman QB by throwing for 2,605 yards with 23 touchdowns against eight interceptions. As a junior in 2017, Litton started all 13 of Marshall’s games, completing 60 percent of his passes for 3,115 yards with 25 touchdowns versus 14 interceptions before declaring for the NFL Draft.

Litton signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and spent the year on the team’s practice squad. He spent part of the 2019 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars before spending time in the XFL with the Seattle Dragons and his hometown Tampa Bay Vipers.

Litton was originally signed in the CFL by the Ottawa Redblacks ahead of the 2021 season, but was released prior to the start of the schedule. He joins a Bombers QB room that features reigning Most Outstanding Player Zach Collaros, as well as backups Dakota Prukop and Dru Brown.
