Michael Ball is set to become the next voice of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, according to Murray McCormick of the Regina Leader-Post.

The position came open in February when Derek Taylor stepped down following three years on the job at CKRM, spanning the 2019 and 2021 CFL season. Taylor has since been announced as the new voice of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on CJOB.

Ball is a native of Regina who is a veteran of the radio industry, serving as a host on Wolf 104.9 FM and recently filling in as Taylor’s replacement on the SportsCage on CKRM. He also has 16 years of experience performing play-by-play duties for the University of Regina Rams.

The Riders announced on Tuesday that the club is returning to the University of Saskatchewan for training camp in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Camp will run from May 15 to June 3 with practices located at Griffiths Stadium from May 15 to May 27.

Saskatchewan will host its Green and White game on May 28 before returning to Regina on May 29 for the remainder of the preseason. Rookie camp will run from May 11-13 at Griffiths Stadium.
